Officers with the White County Sheriff’s Office and the Monticello Police Department responded to a residence on North West Shaffer Drive after receiving a report that a female victim had been shot with a firearm. White County saw its first homicide in March when Miguel Ibarguren, Florida, was charged with the death of his co-worker, Aristide Garcia, 63, of Los Angeles, California. Ibarguren allegedly killed Garcia and dumped his body along Interstate 65 in White County. Ibarguren is scheduled for a final pre-trial hearing on Oct. 27 in White County Superior Court.
