Steven B. ‘Steve’ Bramlage

April 21, 1949 – January 26, 2023

 

 

Steven B. “Steve” Bramlage, 73, of Monticello (Buffalo area), passed away at 2:52 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette with his family at his side.

He was born on Thursday, April 21, 1949, in Rensselaer to the late Bruck and Mary Ellen (Ames) Bramlage. On January 14, 1984, in Monticello he married Judith K. “Judy” Rhoades; she survives.

Steve had lived in the Buffalo area most all of his adult life. He was a 1968 graduate of Twin Lakes High School of Monticello and went on to attend Manchester College, of Manchester, for two years.

Steve spent the first 13 years of his life traveling with the circus; his parents were aerialists.

He had worked security and safety for Indiana Beach of Monticello for over 35 years and retired from there.

Steve was a past commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post #81 of Monticello, worked for the White County Dispatch of White County, and had served as Town Marshall for the town of Wolcott for several years.

Steve was a former active member of the Buffalo Christian Church of Buffalo and was currently a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville.

He lived life to the fullest. His grandchildren were his LIFE! Steve had a heart of gold.

Surviving are wife, Judith K. “Judy” Bramlage of Monticello (Buffalo area); two children, Dusti (husband Kyle) Zarse of Monticello, and Jeffrey “Jeff” Bramlage of Monticello (Buffalo area); 10 grandchildren, Lexi, Aedreanna, Ashtin, Ameelia, Blake, Harper, Airow, Titan, Theodore, and Adam; one great-grandson, Liam; four siblings. Ruth Bramlage of Indianapolis, David “Dave” (wife Ardis) Bramlage, and Julie Hornback, both of Monticello, and Cathy (husband Gary) Perry of Lafayette; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Mary Ellen (Ames) Bramlage.

A Gathering of Family and Friends was Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service was Tuesday, January 31, 203, with Jim Ketchen of the First Christian Church of Francesville officiating.

Burial will be private for the family.
