Ruth Ann Crutchfield, 81, of Plymouth, formerly of Monticello and Knox, passed away at 8:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Culver – Millers Merry Manor Nursing Home of Culver, with her family by her at her side.
She was born on Sunday, December 29, 1940, in Rochester, to the late Frederick and Flora Wuanita “Nita” (Moore) Mohler. On June 23, 1956, in Oceanside,
California, she married Phillip “Phil” Crutchfield; he survives.
Ruth was raised in Monticello and was a 1958 graduate of Monticello Senior High School of Monticello. She had lived in the Plymouth area for the last several years. She had also lived in Monticello and Knox.
Ruth was a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church, of Plymouth, and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority of Monticello. She had worked at Aker Plastics of Plymouth for 23 years.
She loved and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are her husband, Philip “Phil” Crutchfield of Plymouth; three children, Randy (wife Janice) Crutchfield of Fishers, Joy (husband Mark) Milo of Knox, and Ann (husband Mark) Aker of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Elaine (husband Fred “Spunk”) Reinhold of Monterey; one step-sister, Marcia Lee Cain of Bloomington; one brother, James Thomas “Tom” Mohler of Monticello; one sister-in-law, Marie Crutchfield of Monticello; one brother-in-law, Tim (wife Wilnet) Crutchfield of Dothan, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Flora Wuanita “Nita” (Moore) Mohler; one son, Warren David Crutchfield; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David W. and Gertrude V. (Sullivan) Crutchfield; one sister-in-law, Dana Mohler; and one brother-in-law, William David “Bill” Crutchfield.
Visitation took place Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. A Celebration of Life Service was at the funeral home on Monday, May 16, 2022, with Pastor James Jones officiating.
Burial followed at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello.
