December has been busy this year at the Remington Library with some special programs. The first was Frosty Fiesta on December 5th. The children listened to some Christmas stories and then enjoyed looking for treasures in the darkened library. Cookies and hot chocolate were enjoyed by all. On December 15th a reindeer visited the library. The children got to pet the reindeer and other animals.
Stop by the library during Christmas break and join in the fun activities. There will be some crafts to make and toys out to play with. Bring a friend a stay awhile playing a game. We also have a puzzle out you can help put together. There are lots of things for the family to do during Christmas break.
Coming in January is a chance to blow a glass ornament. Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 10th for the glass blowing program. Sharon from Inspired Fire will be visiting the library again on January 10th from 9 to 12. Sign up for a 10-minute spot to blow your own glass ornament. This program is open to everyone older then 10 years old. You must be registered to participate in this free program. Register by visiting the Remington Library or calling 219-261-2543.
This winter the Remington Library will be holding a reading challenge, Wild About Books, for all ages. From January 1 to February 28 try to fill out two book marks to win two prizes. Prizes will be on display by the circulation desk. Children must read 6 hours for a prize. Adults need to read 4 books for a prize. Stop in after Christmas to sign up and receive a record sheet and start recording your reading from January 1 to February 28.
The staff at the Remington Library wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
