Ayanna Thompson opened her new bakery, 10.10 Bakery, on Thursday, Oct. 10, in honor of her sister Mya’s birthday and named in her memory. Mya and her mother Stephanie Thompson lost their lives in a fire in 2022. The grand opening included a ribbon cutting and free samples of her baked creations.
A press release from the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post states, “Troopers from the Indiana State Police joined many from the Monticello and White County community in celebrating this special occasion. The bakery was opened by Ayanna Thompson, the daughter of Trooper Stephanie Thompson and Jason Thompson, and is named in honor of her sister Mya, whose birthday was on 10/10. Ayanna’s dedication and passion for baking are a testament to the strength of her family and the values they’ve instilled in the community.
“Through 10.10 Bakery, Ayanna is keeping their memory alive, continuing to serve the community that meant so much to them. We are incredibly proud of Ayanna and all that she has accomplished.
