Dan Smith of LGS Plumbing, Inc., of Crown Point, presented a donation of $15,000 on behalf of his company to the Monticello VFW Post 2231. Commander John E. Duff was proud to accept the donation on behalf of the club.

The LGS crew has been basing their local job operations on the VFW’s adjacent lot for the last two years and to show their appreciation they chose to support the local non-profit veterans’ organization.

The Monticello VFW has been an established part of the community for 80 years, working to support veterans in a myriad of ways. Beyond the camaraderie of the local canteen, they collect donations for several veteran charities. They also collect and distribute medical equipment such as wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, etc. throughout the community. They organize a respectful flag burning ceremony every year, so that our nation’s flag may be retired with dignity.

LGS Plumbing, Inc. was started in Crown Point in 1983 by Larry Smith. The company is now run by his two sons, Dan and Adam Smith.
