2024 Monon Christmas Parade File photo
The annual Monon Christmas Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. The parade kicks off from the North White High School parking lot and proceeds down Market St. (US 421) to the fire station.
Churches, businesses, clubs or organizations are invited to be a part of the parade. Registration/drop off and line up begins at 1 p.m. in the high school’s parking lot at the west end and will travel east. Each entry will receive a number to be displayed on the front right side to be visible for the announcer.
The route will begin on the west side of the school parking lot and proceed onto Middlestat St. to Reed St. and then to US 421 south to the fire station, where the parade will end.
Pick up of participants will be back at the parking lot. Parade participants will return to the high school via 3rd St. to Pine St. and back north to the school.
Rules for participants are:
Santa Claus will have a place of honor at the end of the parade. No other persons dressed as Santa or Santa figures are allowed.
All animal/livestock entries must provide their own cleanup crew before, during and after the parade and be on a leash.
Entries need to be in line for the parade by 1:30 pm.
The parade committee reserves the right to reject any entry.
