The Hawaiian theme was beautifully carried out for the Junior-Senior Prom at the school Saturday night. One hundred twenty-eight guests were seated at 32 tables in the gym, which had been turned into a South Sea Island for the occasion.

The gym ceiling was decorated with sand and brown colored crepe paper streamers which were also used for numerous booths around the walls. Entrance to each booth was outlined with hibiscus and each contained an eight-foot-tall palm tree. In the center of the floor was a miniature island with four palm trees entwined with strings of hibiscus. Across the stage wall was a 35-foot panorama of Mona Loa and a sister volcano that had been painted by Oral Ledbetter.

During the dinner, Peggy Ann Watson played a program of solovox music, and Julie Pentel, a 7th-grade student who wants to make dancing her career, presented three Hawaiian dances.

The banquet tables were decorated with miniature palm trees, monkeys, and other South Sea effects. Relish plates were half pineapple shells and nut cups were in the form of paper orchids.
