Mark H. Taylor, 56, of Monticello, passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, in Monticello.
He was born on May 1, 1965, in Green Castle, to Hallie and Helen (Craver) Taylor. On June 16, 2012, he married Bel Floyd, and she survives.
Mark was a graduate of North Newton High School. He was the finance manager for Molters Auto Sales in Monticello. Mark was a licensed charter fishing captain on Lake Michigan and owner of Unreel Fishing Charters.
He was a member of the AMVETS Post 91, VFW Post 7599 Reynolds, Eagles Aerie 2570, American Legion Post 81, and Goodfellows of Monticello.
Mark’s passion was drawing, fishing, hunting, sports, and anything outdoors. He loved to give people a good-natured hard time.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bel, he is also survived by three daughters, Cristie (Companion John Miller) Spencer, Lafayette, MacKenzie Spencer, Monticello, Korbyn (fiancée, Jay Jessee) Crowell, Lafayette; one son, Kollin Golden, Monticello; one sister, Chris (Keith) Voelker, Louisville, Kentucky; and five grandchildren, Blaydin, Koltin, Brennin, Paxtin, and Baylynn.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at AMVETS, 219 Northwestern Ave., Monticello, with Pastor Pam Mickler speaking at the close of the celebration. Please come, eat, share, and reminisce.
