LightStream has agreed to purchase the telecommunications network in Royal Center from BerryComm that will add to their existing fiber network in White and Pulaski Counties.
“We had our eyes on the Royal Center area several years back when we were planning a longterm strategy,” says Brent Gillum, LightStream CEO. “BerryComm had a similar target a couple years ago and started fiber internet services in 2020. This acquisition of Royal Center fits well within our service area that complements Winamac, Pulaski, Star City, Buffalo, and Monticello.”
LightStream has invested over $40 million in its fiber network and is excited to add 400 more homes and businesses in Royal Center. In addition to internet services, the Royal Center area will also be able to add phone service once the transition is complete to LightStream.
“We are really happy for the residents of Royal Center to continue with a provider like LightStream. They know internet and customer service,” said BerryComm owner James Berry.
“We understand what it means to be a rural provider in Indiana,” says Josh Bowsher, LightStream Board Chairman. “We are a cooperative and that means something. We look forward to being part of Cass County and serving the residents of Royal Center.”
