Jerry A. Strantz

Jerry A. Strantz, 64, of Francesville, passed away at 8:41 a.m., Sunday, July 21, 2022, at the Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette.

He was born on Thursday, January 9, 1958, in Monticello to the late Lawrence Eugene “Gene” and Selma (Wagner) Strantz.

Jerry had lived in the Francesville area most all his life. He was a 1976 graduate of Twin Lakes High School of Monticello.

Jerry had farmed for many years. He had worked in maintenance at Rockland Flooring of Monon.

Jerry loved all his family, friends, gardening, and trucking. He was a true country boy and would do anything for anybody.

Surviving are three children, Alicia (husband Ryan) Howard of Monticello, Brian (wife Dona) Strantz of Panama City, Florida, and Anthony “Tony’ (companion Kelleigh) Strantz of Morrilton, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, Reece, Ross, and Rhett Howard, Mallaika and Ashna Strantz, Carsyn Emery, Kannon Strantz, Alyssa Houch, and Anthony and Aric Strantz; four siblings, Joe (wife Lynn) Strantz of Darien, Illinois, Julie (husband Larry) Brown of Eaton, Illinois, Jan Lord of Burnettsville, and Jill (husband Peter) Ingram of Seminole, Florida; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends; and former wife, Julie (husband Tom) Houck of Cape Coral, Florida.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Eugene “Gene” and Selma (Wagner) Strantz; and one brother-in-law, Steven “Steve” Lord.

Visitation and a Celebration of Life service were Monday, August 8, 2022, at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Jerry’s son, Brian, officiated.

Burial was at the Chalmers Cemetery of rural Chalmers.
