Three Easter Egg Hunts are scheduled to occur in Monticello in the coming weeks.
The first is on March 28 at the Monticello-Union Township Library. You won’t have to worry about the weather as this event is inside at 10 a.m. in the Program Room. The hunt is for children ages two years to fifth grade. They will have lots of fun and silly activities and of course hunting for those prized eggs.
The other two events are on April 1, which is April Fool’s Day. The day starts off with the Monticello Christian Church holding its second annual Easter Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the egg hunt kicking off at noon. Many other activities and games will be provided to children at 605 Gordon Road. The Easter Bunny will be there, and children can have their photos taken with him. Noah will be available for photos as well with his little ark. A bounce house will be available too. Food and craft vendors will be at the festival as well as free refreshments. Anyone interested in vending or having a booth should contact Bright Beginnings Day Care and Preschool at 574-583-7261.
The second event of the day is at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, at 408 S. Beach Drive. This egg hunt is for individuals and families with special needs. Go and hear the Easter Story, make a craft, have a snack, and hunt for eggs.
On April 8, there will be an Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at Argel Ball Park, State Route 18 West, in Brookston. The rain location will be Frontier Elementary’s old gymnasium. Children ages 1 to 10 are invited to participate. Participants should bring their own baskets and parents bring you camera for photos with the Easter Bunny. The event is sponsored by the Brookston Lions Club, Kappa Kappa Simga Sorority, PSI IOTA XI Sorority, and the Federated Church of Brookston.
