Burnettsville to apply for grant to improve wastewater system



A public hearing is scheduled for April 18, at the Burnettsville Town Hall to discuss the town’s application for a State Community Development Block Grant through the Wastewater Drinking Water Program. The town plans to apply for $500,000 for improvements to its wastewater system with a portion of the project funded by the town expected to be d$125,000.

The town’s portion will come from the town’s wastewater funds.

The public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. Residents will have an opportunity to express their views on the proposal and grant application. The grant is federally funded and is administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

Information related to the project will be available for review prior to the public hearing on April 11, at the Kankakee Iroquois Regional Planning Commission (KIRPC) office, 115 E. Fourth St., Monon between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Written comments may be submitted prior to the public hearing. They may be submitted to the KIRPC office by mail at PO Box 127, Monon IN 47959, no later than the date of the hearing on April 18.
