Frontier starts season with win at home
Frontier took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They took down the Benton Central Bison 69-53. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 74-63 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Frontier will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they’ll take on Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on December 5.
North White loses season opener at home
North White unfortunately couldn’t capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 74-25 loss at the hands of the North Miami Warriors on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 10 in a row.
North White’s loss came despite strong showings from Damian Avendano and Charlie Williams. Avendano posted nine points and five steals, while Williams had four points.
North White played their second game at home against Delphi Community on Saturday. Results were unavailable at press time.
Twin Lakes starts season with defeat on the road
Twin Lakes kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Winamac Warriors 62-30. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn’t forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Need, who posted 10 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ledger Shaffer, who had seven points.
Leading Winamac to victory were Jaybin Hines and Parker Zeider. Hines went 5-for-11 to rack up 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Zeider shot 46% from the field en route to 15 points and five boards. Hines is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he’s now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he’s played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Sean Stark, who put up eight points.
Twin Lakes played West Lafayette Tuesday evening.
Tri-County wins first game of season
On Friday, Nov. 28, Tri- County won their season opener against Rensselaer Central with a score of 62- 45.
